Art Lurked

Artlurker.com had some nice things to say about my piece in His Wife/Her Lover at Primary Projects. Check out the article here.

"One of the highlights of the exhibition is Emmet Moore’s Cage, which dangles from the center of the gallery like a sadomasochistic chandelier. Confined inside are three bold beams of clinically white fluorescent lights. A master of material deception, Moore masquerades painted wood to look like the kind of cold iron cage one would imagine in hanging in the cellar of Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado."

Hard Poems!

The project, which began during the summer of 2011 through a series of workshops at NDS (Nektar De Stagni Shop) and Gallery Diet, was conceived in order to bring together invited Artists and Designers to make functional objects. Participants are working collaboratively or individually, but with the goal of creating an overall exchange between different practices, as well as to create a cohesive and interactive social environment, to open on Fashion’s Night Out on September 8th, through December, 2011, at the NDS Design District Space.

THE SAILOR

The Little River Yacht Club, i.e., my studio was voted by the Miami New Times as "The Best Place to Meet Intelligent Men" in Miami. I don't where they get their info from but I think they need to double check their sources. Read the article here.

Rafael de Cardenas @ JTG

A little late on this one but my friend Rafael de Cardenas has a furniture show up in Tribeca right now at Johnson Trading Gallery. I helped Rafael design a lot of this stuff and I built most of it with Larry Newberry at the Little River Yacht Club. The show is pretty bold and exciting. I would highly recommend making it by there before it closes on June 25.
